Ben & Kristi

This was my first shot at a wedding highlight video. Thank you Ben and Kristi for giving me this opportunity.

Enjoy!

Winter Expedition. Moving Pictures.

It’s been awhile since I’ve done any videography, but I decided to give it another try this past weekend.

Here’s a video montage from the Winter Expedition that we took with some of our high school students.

Enjoy!

Frigid Photos For Love

I had the privilege of taking engagement photos for my brother, Dillon, and his fiancee, Julie this past weekend. On Saturday the temperature was barely reaching single digits, with the wind-chill plummeting well below human sustainability. It felt like an expedition to the top of mount Everest.

Nonetheless, we ventured out to capture the moment.

I am happy with how they turned out.

As well I am so excited for Dillon. He found an amazing girl. And Julie, welcome to the family. I’m grateful to have be having another sister (another meaning you and Sarah, Karen’s sister, not Dillon). For the both of you I pray that God would protect and provide for you as you rocket towards your wedding day. May you both continue seeking hard after the Lord. I love you both!

Enjoy. CLICK HERE.

Justin & Madeline

HEY FOLKS!

It’s been quite some time since I’ve written for this blog. Sorry.

Here are some photos from a wedding I had the privileged of shooting a few weeks ago.

Maddy and Justin, thank allowing me to be a part of this beautiful weekend. I pray that God would continue to strengthen your relationship and make you both more and more like Jesus.

Vanity, E. Coli, continuing to vanquish.

HEY EVERYBODY!

Madeline is still hard at work on her E. Coli Project, her newest addition being E. Coli Lipstick. Here are a few photos from a shoot we did this past week. We also had Sarah, Madeline’s sister-in-law, come along and do some modeling.

Don’t worry though, the lipstick you see on their lips did not contain E. Coli , though the lipstick  they were holding did. OH MAN!

Enjoy!

Cheers,

benjamin

Quick Update

It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted and I want to let you know of an upcoming post that I will be doing. Madeline had me take a few more photos for her E. Coli project and I really like the new addition to this concept and was pleased with some of the shots we got. So, hopefully I will get a moment in the next few days to post these photos.

Have a great day!

cheers,

benjamin

Sister, E. Coli, Art

I never had a sister. It was always just my younger brother Dillon and I. Though there were many years that I spent at my friend Alex’s house and he had a sister, Madeline.

So for quite some time I have considered Madeline to be my sister.

I want to show you some of her work.

This is her recent piece which she had me photograph for her grad-school portfolio.

Each pink or green circle you see hung upon the wall is a petri-dish filled with E. Coli. The color, as I understand it from Madeline’s explanation, comes from the E. Coli feeding on certain nutrients and different nutrients cause distinct colors to  form.

I am very proud of her for the work she has done and I want to share it with you.

Enjoy.

This is an E. Coli Necklace.

An Outbreak is Approaching

HEY FRIENDS!

I will be posting photos of a couple pieces I just shot for a friend’s portfolio.

It involves E. Coli.

So wait with great expectation.

Cheers,

benjamin

NO WINGS TO SPEAK OF

I was a bit out of my element the other night as I ventured to Buffalo MN to photograph my friend Ryan’s band NO WINGS TO SPEAK OF. Between feeling that if my car was to break down I might never be found and arriving at the show being completely washed over by the nostalgia of my earlier rock and roll days, I was left with the overwhelming awareness of my increasing age and my lack of hipness.

This photo shoot was also different for me in that I haven’t really shot too many live shows. They present many challenges for the photographer, like the minimal amount of light combined with the fact that the subjects are constantly in motion.

Nonetheless, I want to share a few of my shots from this show.

I also included a couple shots from another band they were on tour with, FROM THE PAWN (out of Long Island, NY).

ENJOY!
